We have exciting news! The Central Okanagan Food Policy Council (COFPC) is developing a Good Food Box program for the Central Okanagan area. To ensure the success of this project, we are looking for community agencies, businesses and others to partner with. Preliminary planning is underway with an anticipated pilot of the Good Food Box in early 2018. Launch is highly dependent on securing a location for Good Food Box operation. Funding for this pilot project is supported through the Central Okanagan Foundation and the City of Kelowna’s Community Social Development program.

Okanagan Fruit Tree Project – The Fruit Tree Project began as an idea with the COFPC and is now it’s own successful organization! The Fruit Tree Project is a non-profit organization that strives to create a vibrant, inclusive, and food secure community. Every year the Okanagan Valley produces heaps of colourful and delicious fruit. And every year some of that fruit is wasted. We want to save this fruit and direct it for better use. The goal is to bring people together through harvesting local food. The premise is simple: volunteers harvest extra fruit from backyard fruit trees and donate it to charitable community groups. A share of the fruit also goes to the volunteers and tree owners.
Central Okanagan Community Farm Society – Another idea that starting with the COFPC! Their vision is to create a place where Farmers and the Community collaborate and learn from each other to enhance Food Security in the Central Okanagan. The Community Farm is training new farmers, while growing healthy food for the community!
